Yoga In The Park In The Rain

"Don't worry, our rainy day plan is a sheltered pavilion in botanic gardens :)" I texted Yoga In The Parkers. It was mid-afternoon and grey skies loomed above. "Might wanna bring an umbrella from the short walk from meeting point to yoga point!" Came the follow up text. Cautious I know. but as Estha said in The God of Small Things: Anything can happen, so it's best to be prepared.

Braving dark clouds, 7 of us attended Saturday's session, I was worried we wouldn't be able to all fit into the pavilion but there was plenty of space - we could've fit in two more actually! :)
Was also very curious what it would be like to practise while it rained outside.

And although all day it had threatened and threatened and threatened the rain that eventually came was nothing more than a mere drizzle. I must admit it was lovely to have cool, evening air and to stand in Tadasana watching raindrops strike the lake's surface. V. zen. V. wabisabi.

The respite from the heat meant that our energy was conserved I think, and tiger breathing, dolphin and headstand prep seemed to come easily! (well...relatively speaking!)

So now I can say for certain - Yoga In The Park is a rain or shine event.

Yay!

Yet another reason to take it outside ;)
